Adventures in Birdland

Birdie Num Num
Magpies love peanuts so I
put some out this morning along
with a little cheese then waited for
one to arrive.
It took about 3 minutes.

The Early Bird
However, the magpie wasn't
the only one who showed up.

Kitty Num Num

Hasty Retreat
But the cat beat a hasty retreat
as the magpie hopped along
the fense squawking at him.

Table for One
Be sure to check out the
classy black pants.

I noticed that over there across the mountains, your magpies have black beaks. Ours are the more rare yellow kind. I hate them anyway. So much so, I blogged about it. Feeling better now ..

HAHAHAHAHAHAAaaaa.... wonderful post even though you do despise magpies. I have to agree though. They really play the dandy. Who else wears a tuxedo to dine on dog food? But, thanks for the tip. I’ll get them some kibble delights. ;) But not IAMS. I’ve joined the boycott until they stop running their labs like medieval dungeons.

By the way, I love the proverb you included and am using it as the epigraph for a poem I’m working on today. Also, enjoy the lake. No outings for us. Right now it’s smoky as hell around the Tahoe basin.
