Sam Bacile's gift to the world

TRIPOLI, Libya, Sept. 11, 2012 -- The U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans were killed in an attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi by protesters angry over a film that ridiculed Islam's Prophet Muhammad.

Hate monger Sam Bacile, a 56-year-old California real estate developer who identifies himself as an Israeli Jew and who said he produced, directed and wrote the two-hour film, "Innocence of Muslims," said he had not anticipated such a furious reaction. This cowardly bastard is now "in hiding" while others pay for his little exposé with their lives.

Update: Just for the record, as searches on the subject direct people to this post, "Sam Bacile" is one of the many aliases for Nakoula Basseley Nakoula a convicted felon from Cerritos, California. Nakoula and Joseph Nassralla Abdelmasih, the president of the Duarte-based charity Media for Christ, emerged Thursday as forces behind "Innocence of Muslims", the low-budget film which incited violence in recent days across the Arab world.

vObviously to invest 5 Million dollars into a propaganda movie, you have to have an agenda. Is Sam Bacile, a jewish religous fanatic, trying to start up war between the muslims and the USA? Or did he have so other intention? Publicity? Does his movie count as hate speech? It reminds me of another event, where some pracher wanted to burn Korans live on TV

Apparently, Bacile is not Jewish after all but a Coptic Christian and maybe Egyptian. I dunno. It's a tangle. You probably know more than I at this point. It will probably take days to sort out much at all. I hadn't even heard about the 5 mill. I'd say this movie is hate speech. What about you? That maniac Koran burning preacher in the South intends to show it at his church this weekend. That's got to say it all. Sick bastards.

This will continue to happen until either the world comes to understand non-violent freedom of expression or the world teaches its children it's worse to give offense than to have an opinion. The latter appears to be the trend.

I agree, Don. In fact, that's a very astute point. I have heard, too, the foreign news people stating that the Egyptians don't "understand American freedom of speech."

I don't think "giving offense" and "having an opinion" are exactly opposites, so the last part of your statement required me to use up some of my valuable I.Q. points. . .

But, either of the two choices you outline, one positive and one negative, will work toward keeping the peace, but the former would be preferable. The positive, understanding freedom of expression, requires education and thought and acceptance of all data. Sort of the opposite of fundamentalism.
