Unfinished pieces

Went to the Louvre today. My favorite pieces were two unfinished sculptures of slaves abandoned by Michelangelo, beautiful work but a grim topic for sure.

Hey Roy. Sorry about the lack of photos. I took several. It's a pretty meh post without them. I've gotten really lazy about transferring photos from my phone to my laptop and I've gotten really lazy about updating my blog. I'm grateful you still bother to comment, especially as you are the only person who does not, of course, that I'd appreciate you any less if anyone else ever left a remark. If I ever do find those photos I will post a couple here. These two sculptures were stunning, both as disturbing subjects and in their artistic excellence.

Were the slaves abandoned by Michelangelo or where the sculptures abandoned by Michelangelo. This has a "let's eat grandma" vibe to it.

Mr. Donut, goddamn! You're right. My note is, at best, terse. At worst I sound cavalier about slavery. Not my intention at all, of course. I blame it all on being too much in a hurry but... to answer your question ... yes. Sadly it does have a "let's eat grandma" vibe. :( I'll get around to a more detailed post later so, hopefully, that one will make up for this.
