Gone with the wave
You looking at me looking at you.
Me looking at you looking at me.
It rained in the afternoon
so Frida Kahlo the Squirrel
took shelter on the porch.
took shelter on the porch.
As soon as it stopped
she made her exit across
the screen, house left.
the screen, house left.
That is all.

The crab is such a gorgeous thing --so cute and with armored alert.
I also love the little crab, adorable!
Dang the view out your window looks like a painting.
Bob & Paula: I'm with you guys. I love the little shore crabs. This guy worked so hard pulling sand out of his hole, running off and flicking into a pile, only to have the next high wave undo the whole thing. I was so on his side but what ya' gonna do? The ocean will have her way.
El Hombre de las Sombras: You're right. It is very painterly. The light was perfect and the camera, with its selective eye, did the rest. It blew me away. I've been thinking, maybe once we get back to Nevada, I will try my hand at another acrylic.
Why do people eat animals? Why, really, when there's other food to eat?
Throwing a lobster in a boiling vat is disgustingly cruel.
Hopefully, our species will have some sort of epiphany (ouch--ten dollar word) and discover that all the other species on the planet can feel pain and alarm the same way we do.
Bob, thank you!
I certainly share your point of view and also hope that humanity will, sooner than later, undergo a tipping point epiphany of compassion.
Seems many people notice, or at least suspect, that all living beings, not just the family dog and cat, but all living beings... lobsters, chickens, cows, alligators, spiders, elephants (you name it)... that we all, in our own way, feel degrees of pain, dread, love, hope, awe, concern, need community, love our children... the whole gamut. The work is getting that idea from the head to the heart and actually changing the way we eat and interact with life and the world around us.
I'm glad you have visitors while M. Lee is away!
Reid and I watched a bunny at the park today and then he sang the whole way home;)
Hi Kimberlee, great hearing from you. That's so sweet about Reid singing all the way home. He is such a great little kid.
I never commented on it, but that top picture, "Gone With the Wave," is really good. I keep coming back to look at it.

On a bad day, I might say that epiphany wouldn't slow us down. And we should already know that. It's like wondering if cigarette smoke is bad for you in 1955.
Roy, thanks. :)
I like your cigarette analogy. That about sums it up. Knowledge is meaningless if we don't act on it. Like they say, "nothing changes if nothing changes".
all of these things remind me of you. I like the crab, so cute
