Swami

Last photo with Swami?

Swami is gone. We are heartbroken. It was my fault. He was riding in my shoulder bag and either fell out while I was climbing around the structure in the above photo or a pickpocket got him at the next temple. Either way, I feel absolutely horrible about it. The three of us have been traveling together for the last 14 years. We're really going to miss that little guy. I'm crushed. But... dare I say... he left us with this video? I wouldn't put it past him. I just happened to take it during a tuk tuk ride through Angkor Wat, about a half hour before he disappeared.

As soon as I noticed he was missing, we retraced out steps. We hadn't gone far but no luck. This evening, looking at photos from the day, I managed to narrow down the area where we lost him so we'll check around a bit more tomorrow because we can. I just have to.

Me & Swami at Angkor Wat

Good night, Swami. Sleep tight. Don't let the bed bugs bite. See you on down the road.

Oh no! I'm sorry. I don't know where my tiger puppet is. I lost him 56 years ago. Perhaps, in both their cases, an adventure of their own....

Be careful!

Swami is a traveling man for sure but fuck! That little guy is part of the family sooooo stay tuned. This isn't over, by any means.

And sorry to hear about your tiger puppet. I suppose I could send Lucky Pierre back if it gets to be too much.

Better leave Lucky Pierre with you. That's why they call him Lucky Pierre.

pardon me, I think I just discovered something important . . .

I did! At least today, you need only type in the word in the word verification, not both the word and the numbers. The numbers alone, however, don't do the trick.

Wow! Gotcha CAPTCHA. Thanks.

Sorry. Couldn't help myself. Anyway, can't wait to try it out.

You don't think that child is holding swami for ransom, do you? I am so sad. Can I make you another one? He won't be the same, of course, but I'm clever with needles.

Thanks, Judy. I know you understand. And thanks for the offer. I will definitely keep it in mind when we launch into Project Swami this winter. You are very good with everything you undertake. :)))

Happy trails to Swami. I guess he grew up and decided to venture off on his own. He probably thought it would be too hard to say goodbye :(

Thanks, Kimberlee. I miss him like crazy but hey! If we have anything to say about it, we haven't seen the last of him. Recreating Swami is going to be our big winter project. :)
